According to the USDA National Nutrient Database, 100 g of raw lentils provide 353 calories; the same weight of cooked lentils provides 116 kcal. Raw lentils are 8% water, 63% carbohydrates including 11% dietary fiber, 25% protein and 1% fat.

Types of Lentils

Here we do supply Red Lentils (whole, split, football type) and Green Lentils (whole) types.

Easy Vegan Burger Recipe with Lentils

  • 1cup dry lentils, well rinsed walnut-lentil-burger-1
  • 2 12cups water
  • 12teaspoon salt
  • 1tablespoon olive oil
  • 12medium onion, diced
  • 1 carrot, diced
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 34cup rolled oats, finely ground
  • 34cup breadcrumbs and walnuts mix

 

  1. Boil lentils in the water with the salt for around 45 minutes. Lentils will be soft and most of the water will be gone.
  2. Fry the onions and carrot in the oil until soft, it will take about 5 minutes.
  3. In a bowl mix the cooked ingredients with the pepper, soy sauce, oats and bread cumbs.
  4. While still warm form the mixture into patties, it will make 8-10 burgers.
  5. Burgers can then be shallow fried for 1-2 minutes on each side or baked at 200C for 15 minutes.

Here you go; lentils are great protein source for especially vegans.
